Summer Programs

Each summer many colleges and other educaitonal institutions offer programs for high school students. Some of these provide an introduction to architecture and design and others can provide advanced instruction. They are typically designed for students contemplating the study of architecture at the university level. Fees, housing and other expenses vary.

Prepping for Architecture Education

Solid background in the physical sciences, including mathematics;

Be able to "conceptualize."

A strong proficiency in oral and written communication;

Be able to draw and sketch with ease.

Excel at English and the humanities.

A good course in freehand drawing.

A summer job in building construction
